If you are going to be holding a barbecue to raise funds for your local humane society, consider some of the following options to help spread the word about your cause. After people in your community learn about the event, they may decide to attend and will be likely to tell other people about the occasion.

Purchase Rack Cards

Rack cards are printed on thick card stock. The paper can have a glossy, matte, or unfinished surface. Rack cards can be placed in special holders where interested people can take one to read over in their spare time. A printing company can mass produce the advertisement that you design for an affordable fee. They can also help you prepare the advertisement if you aren't sure how you would like it laid out.

Take some pictures of some of the animals at the humane society that need a home. Give these and information about your event to the printing company. Choose to have the advertising printed on one or two sides of each piece of card stock. Ask local business owners around town if you can place the cards inside of their businesses. People will be made aware of your event each time they visit any of the establishments that have some of your cards.

Make Some Colorful T-Shirts

Purchase some plain t-shirts, fabric paint, iron-on transfer designs, and stencils. Line the stencils up on each shirt. Trace them with the fabric paint. Use bright colors so that the lettering on each shirt stands out. Add iron-on transfer designs that depict animals to the shirts with an iron. Wear the shirts when you are out and about so that people you encounter will read about the good cause you are holding.

If you would like to sell some of the shirts, hold a yard sale and give the t-shirts to interested parties for a small fee. Advertise the shirts in your local newspaper or online if you would like to inform a larger crowd of people about the fundraiser.

Add Magnetic Letters To Your Vehicle

Advertise the barbecue by placing some magnetic letters across the sides of your vehicle. If the lettering is large and a dark color, people will be able to read about the event when you are passing by them on the road. This is a great way to advertise on a daily basis. Clean the sides of your car off with soapy water. Rinse well with plain water. Wait for the surface to dry. Line the letters up in straight lines with the assistance of a measuring tape, and press the letters firmly against the exterior of your car.

If you work in a high traffic area, park your car near the edge of the parking lot at your place of employment. Once the barbecue has passed. remove the letters and save them for an advertisement that you would like to display in the future.

Once you inform people in your community about the barbecue that you are holding, be prepared to serve many people on the day of the event. All of the funds that you raise can be used to purchase food, medicine, toys, and bedding for all of the animals at the humane society. The contribution that you make to the organization will be greatly appreciated. For more information, contact a business such as M13 Graphics.
